Jean McNiff is Professor of Educational Research at York St. John’s University, and Adjunct Professor at the University of Limerick. She was a deputy head teacher in a large secondary school in Dorset before taking early retirement and moving into professional education, based mainly in universities. She is active in international settings, supporting the professional learning of practitioners across the professions and supervising their work-based action enquiries for their higher degrees. She writes on action research and her books are used internationally on professional education and higher degree programmes.
